Hello all,

I have been watching the price for a Nikon D750 for several months now. Last fall, you could pick one up for $1396 with a battery grip included. Today, the camera is $1496 with nothing included.

My question is "do you think the price of a D750 will decrease when the new D760 is announced? $1496 is not a bad price for this camera, but I would hate to buy it today and see it cost less in 3 months.

Decision, decisions.

The price of the D750 will increase when the D760 is introduced. The reason by that time the D750 stock is low enough so they don't care to sell them but keeping their price higher makes it easier to sell the D760 which is expected to sell for more than $2000. In fact the price of the D750 has been raised can be a sign of the D760 is coming soon.

I purchased a D750 (new) about one month ago from B & H. It was $1296. They included a free shoulder bag, battery, and memory card. They're still doing that but it looks like the price went up to $1496. That's still an incredible price. I think that camera was about $2200 went it first came out. You should get one right away.

And if it doesn't, you lost three months of use.
(I bought a camera once (v1), two months later the next version was available.
If I kept waiting, I'd never have one yet as they are now up to v7.)

I have noticed that usually the Mother's Day/Father's Day time of the year brings some sale prices and good deal bundles (grip, extra battery, memory card, useless camera bag, etc). So I'm going against the grain here and suggesting you wait one more month and see what comes up. I bought my D810 a year ago in just such a deal. I never use the grip but the card and extra battery come in handy. The bundle included the Nikon 24X120, f/4 lens (basically for free) that gave me at least one decent full frame lens to start with. It's one of the few major purchases I have made in my life where I did not second guess myself later. (PS: some folks don't like that lens but I find it to be quite good.)

I sprung for the D750 a year ago when it could be had with the battery grip and 24-120 f4 total package for just under $2K, free shipping. Still feel it was the best deal for that set-up, and has yet to be matched.

I picked up this bundle towards the end of 2017 for $1996.00 -- https://www.adorama.com/inkd750k1g.html

Currently the Nikon D750 body only is $500.00 off. They will twice a year at least offer the same deal with a free vertical grip.
And yes, Nikon will lower the price on this wonderful camera when a newer version is introduced (it has been Nikon's history). You should also be aware that the current vertical grip may or may not fit the newer version when it is introduced.
And, the Nikon D750 replacement has no introduction date, it could be next month, it could be in two years. NO ONE ON THIS SITE OR ANY SITE KNOWS. And Nikon has said NOTHING, and will say NOTHING until they decide that a replacement is ready, if ever. Nikon, I feel, is going to be limiting it's DSLR line in the future because of their mirrorless model's. I believe they will be watching the sales numbers of these new mirrorless camera's to determine what their future offerings will include. Stay tuned.
If it was me I would wait until the next time they throw in the vertical grip (if that's what trips your trigger) and buy it then.

Pricing is at the whim of the manufactured. When the D750 was introduced, it sold for about $2,300. Now, it's a bargain, but it's still the same solid camera.

Of course I wouldn't know for sure as the people who do know are not at the liberty to post things like that. However, if you track the pricing of the D810 you would see that they have a big sales on the D810 and then raised the price just before the D850 was introduced.

I now feel like a complete idiot for shelling out $2,300 body only, new back in March of 2015. Nice camera, however. Now less than 2,000 clicks of the shutter. To look at it you would think it was new - out of box.

A month ago your camera would worth less than $1300 but consider you had it for 4 years and that's not bad.

So, you have actually rented the D750 for 4 years and it cost you a little over $1000.00. NOT BAD. NOT BAD AT ALL.
