Does anyone read the original post? This person probably has no interest in taking photographs. She wants to take pictures, snap shots if you prefer. If you gave her a D5 she would, within 30 minutes, put it in a drawer and never look at again. If she starts her shooting career with a DSLR, unless you are getting it for her so you can use it, she will rapidly become frustrated and quit. I started with a D7200 and almost gave up and I have long experience with film. What she needs is something she will be comfortable and can use effectively from day one. Get her a simple, easy to use, point and shoot camera. If she wants additional capability as she grows in the hobby she can upgrade.

Apparently you didn’t read the original post. She wants something that does more than a point and shoot, which is why some of suggested a bridge camera. It’ll give her more capabilities but without changing lenses and she can shoot in auto. If she does want to learn more down the road then it will serve that too.

I thought of this site when a friend of mine wanted to know the best camera to go with for a beginner photographer, she wants to get a simple to use dslr camera that will take crisp pictures and has a good zoom lens for 25ft. away. She wants to spend 500.00 dollars or less and doesn't want anything complicated to use and needs a camera that will function great in low lighting. She is interested in taking pictures of people, at weddings, birthday, graduation etc. also of her horses, flowers, birds, etc. Thanks in advance for your responses!

I would suggest a 'bridge' camera may fit the bill for a beginner. It provides many options including having one lens zoom, a full range of settings such as PASM and video. It takes most people about 2 or 3 years to progress to the intermediate stage where maybe a full frame/DSLR is perhaps needed for serious photography. Thats how I started. Developing photographic skills is incremental. If they goes for a bog standard DSLR within the price range range they will soon find the kit lens(es) will be inadequate and became challenging. At least with a bridge camera you you can develop skills over time and then be in a much better to decide which camera model is likely to be most suited to you

If she is a beginer she would find a mirrorless easier to use than a DSLR. This outfit would suite her perfectly.

The a6000 would fit the bill even if not a DSLR... With the single 'kit' lens, it takes excellent pictures and will likely fill her needs for years to come.
