Back in the film days I had a number of my APS film developed and put on photo CD. I used to be able to open them in Photoshop CS2 but now I can't open them in Photoshop CC. Any idea how to open these files?

Yes they are Kodak .PCD files. The max res I think about 6MP.

Do they require a Kodak .PCD viewer? Did you used to have a .PCD viewer?
Can they be imported into an editor and saved as JPEG?
(I never saw/used .PCD files.)

Last discs I had I could read with Corel Paintshop Pro. I converted all mine to TIFF at that time and no longer use Corel. There are a couple PCDtoJPG converters out there but I have never used them due to the fact they only are available from questionable download sites.
The on-disc PCD viewer works with Windows 95 or 98, but I could never get it to work on anything newer.

I could open them in CS1 and CS2. They are in several resolutions. The highest is about 6MP. I can reinstall CS2 in my Windows XP machine and read them I think. It would take me some time but doable.

Irfanview should be able to open your files.

Below is a screen clip of the set up preferences. I have not tried using Irfanview for this - I have no PCD files.

Well I open them with CS2 so I can save them as TIFF to further edit using PS CC.

Don't leave images on a CD as it will degrade and make images inaccessible, unless it is an archival CD/DVD, which are advertised as retaining images for 100 years, I have non archival CD's that are inaccessible after 15 years

Its very apparent that many of the posters to this thread are unfamiliar with the subject at hand.

I’ve used Irfanview. If your computer can see the files, it will work.

I understand the point the poster was making and he is looking for the relevant software to open the files he has, I was just making a point about how files will degrade after time making them inaccessible to any software, and although we may not have the obvious expertise you no doubt have we may have a tiny bit of knowledge others without your prowess will find useful
