Waiting on line yesterday matinee. I noticed his forked goatee when he was full face, but by the time I got the phone out and set to max telephoto, all I got was this profile. But, as some hog once said, any camera is better than none. The only edit was to darken the sign a little.

Nice try, but an iPhone X would have done a better job of capturing the detail in the hair and skin.
Really? My 6 texts, gets emails, and lets me talk to people...right?
Nice try is about all this amounts to. Lots of blown highlights.

And so would 50 other cameras but the reality is the op got the picture. A bird in the hand...
If you like it then it is a good shot.
A phone at times is better than nothing. Too bad it was not perfect to those that never have a bad shot.
Who is this, some celebrity, I presume?

My wife has an iPhone 6. The technical quality of the pictures she takes does not match the quality of my iPhone X. The only reason I spent the obscene amount of money on the X was for the camera.
I understand, and appreciate that the X can and does take some awesome shots...looking on the screen. My step-daughter has one. Probably it can do most of what my cameras from 20 years ago could do.
I also know that there are countless youngsters out there (I'm 84; that's almost everyone, to me) who are not at all interested in printing, or enlarging, or pp. They enjoy their photos as is for personal use and social media. Great for them. I'm not of that group.
A couple of days ago, I posted some composites of pelicans being pelicans. Your X could not even begin to capture those separate images. Over the past years, I have posted other shots which could not have been captured with a cell phone camera. Yes, it's easier to carry just a cell phone, but none to date has the sensor or lens to meet my needs.
So, I would rather spend 4 figure money on a new lens, or even my pocket Sony RX100 VI.
Btw, as an aside, how about that guy who tried a selfie overlooking the Grand Canyon with a cell phone?

show quote)
When I have my two Fuji X-T3's with me, one with the Fuji 50-140 f/2.8, the other with the 16 f/1.4, I use them instead of the iPhone X.
Good shot since I would have been able to shoot with an iPhone 5s. Not too many older out there
Not too bad - for a telephone?

I think it was a beautiful capture! I have an iPhone XR and I don’t know how good the camera is. Don’t use it enough
