Why do you believe that we can have restrictions and rules about all the other rights we have but the 2nd Amendment is different? I mean we already have laws prohibiting certain types of weapons and most recently, Trump made Bump Stocks illegal. Although I'm surprised I haven't heard more screaming about that. I'm sure if it was Obama you guys would be arming up to take out the government.
Personally, I have several weapons both handguns and long guns but I don't delude myself into believing that I can take on the United States Armed Forces. Yet you folks still think you can.

I have a friend who live and works in Washington DC's area. He pick up some information on Dem. and gun control. If the Dem won in 2020. The plan is not gun control, but to tax ammo. $1.00 per round of central fire round. $5.00 for a box of 50 rounds of .22 cal. ammo. Also to increase the cost of a FFL's license from what it is today to $1,000 per year. Yes, per year and it would be look on as a tax. No tax write off for ammo tax and FFL's license tax. What my friend was telling me was that Dem. are going to use the power of goverment to tax. By using tax power Dem are getting around the 2th Am. My friend would not tell me where he got his information. Sound nuts, look at the history laws pass by Fer. Gov. it not that nuts.

It boggles my mind when any one thinks that background checks are going to stop bad people from obtaining guns. They don't care about the laws and won't follow them. We have laws that say it's illegal to k**l someone and that doesn't seem to work now does it? Drug trafficking is illegal but you can purchase drugs on many street corners in most cities today. And if you think that making bump stocks illegal will keep the wrong people from having them just wait. Incidentally I have no problem with that law but do not think it will in any way make bad guys that have them turn them in and there are probably thousands out there right now so it's will only be a matter of time until someone uses one in a crime. We have plenty of laws on the books now if everybody followed them. Most laws only effect the honest people who aren't doing what the law prohibits in the first place.

Yes Swiss have guns. They have guns because they all serve in the Swiss Army and as part of their duties they keep their rifles to defend the country.
I would suspect that the N**is didn't invade Switzerland because that's where they had their money stashed.
If memory serves they didn't seem to be afraid to fight other countries that had guns. Remember that WWII thingy?
In answer to your Bump Stock not being a firearm, well, what if it was Obama that took away your bump stocks? You'd be losing your s**t big time.

We don't have to take on the armed forces.
They are sworn to uphold the Constitution not some liberal puke politician.
Also you forget that the military actually consists of people with families and extended families.
The only military a citizen would need to take on would be political generals and most likely the lower ranks will do that as well.
Do you really think that the military as a whole would even think of turning on armed fellow citizens?
