For 8x10 number 2 would be worth a try. Has a greater depth and shows sun shadows well. I always take the easy way out. "Whatever you think Dear." Good luck and thanks for sharing the photos.

A good observation and fun reply, TuG...picking a favorite for me is like picking a favorite child!!

Hey ChiefEW, you're siding with my wife now...I'm slowly being outnumbered in my selection!!

No. 3, hands down. Better overall lighting.

Nice shots.

How'd you get into the canyon?

Nice images. I like #1 because of the way the river stands out. Why not crop the bottom and RHS while maintaining the aspect ratio to get rid of the illuminated bush?

IMHO #3
Best exposure: foreground balances background, interesting lines, sky is luminous
Shadows are less
Just me...
Thanks for sharing

Great shots, thanks. I'm all over #1 because of the reflection of the water.

#1!!....background is sharper due to less light setting off a little haze on the others. I like the wider angle and the tree adds to the scene especially well focused depth of field

I also like #1 but would crop as suggested and possibly slightly lighten the foreground. All are beautiful shots making you want to be there to watch the sun rise.

These were actually taken from a pull-out parking spot inside DHP...this pull-out is just after leaving the DHP parking lot. Thanks for looking and commenting, I appreciate your interest!!

Just personal preference, John. I actually chose that composition to catch the first light on the bush...the other two images are from the same area and taken without the bush.

Thanks artpulis...#1 was my favorite too as it was one of my first shots as the sun just cracked the horizon!!

Many thanks, dreff for your composition comments, that I agree with. To me, there was a whole lot to like with this composition when I first looked in this direction...the sunlight just peeking over the horizon was hard to ignore!!

Many thanks for your composition comments and taking the time to respond, Ladylee. I will give them a try but really like this image as posted...as they say, "it drew me in"!!
