Ok, I have been taking some photography workshops and learning a lot, but I am practicing in manuel mode, that is what I am supose to be practicing, well, I have some pictures on the card in jpg, and some in raw, supose to do some of both for my class, but I can look at the ones I did in raw, but when I try to pull them up to my computer and save them or try to open them from the card in my photo program, It won't let me pull them up, it just shows like there isn't any, when I saved them to a folder to try to open them that way, still nothing showing up. Am I doing something wrong, is my computer,(which is 4years old) Has 7 program.

The last ones I did for class also the same problem had to go to wal mart and get them put on a disc just to see them, but afraid it is going to take away from the picture. Really would like to play with editing it for class. Hopefully I have explained it well enough so you understand what I am talking about, the pictures look good but would like to pull them up.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Most cameras include software to view your RAW files. Check the CDs that shipped with or go to your camera's website to download.

RAW is interesting - I have Windows XP on my protable sititng next to my Windows 7 desk top. XP will open and display my Nikon RAW images but 7 just gives me an Icon for the image. Down load FastStone Image Viewer - it is free and it will display your images.

However, before downloading, you may want to check that your camera is included... Mine has been on the market almost two years now, and it is not (yet??) on the list: Olympus E-5.

First try to open the *.raw files with the Camera (Canon is what I have)software. When you are finsihed viewing and editing, save the file first as*.raw and then convert it to *.jpg and you will now have two files. The original edited *.raw and *.jpg. You will be able to open the *.jpg files with all viewer programs. I you are more speific with the modle of your Camera others may have another solution.

When you go to the folder on your computer go to the bottom of the folder window and right below the "file name" drop box you will see another one for "file types". Click on the little arrow at the right hand side and then select "all file types" (or similar wording depending on your software). You should then be able to see all the files.

Are you talking about in my photo software, I don't understand, can't find anything under folder to change. I did download one of the programs for window 7, but it changes it to jpeg, and I want to keep it raw. I am not really understanding what you are talking about, thanks
