As my eyes age, I am finding it harder to get macro shots dead on. Even with fast autofocus, it still doesn’t read your mind on what to focus on. As a result, I am still mostly on manual focus for macros. The K20D is a solid body. I replaced it also with a K3 and eventually a K1. The K20D is retired.

I've noticed that, too, Kingman … particularly, when setting up Macros. You might want to get your eyes checked. … Went for an eye test at an Ophthalmologist on Monday - turns out my vision is only 20-40 - which is due to a cataract in my right eye - thus producing blurry images with that eye. I've scheduled cataract surgery, already … hopefully, I'll be back to 20-20 afterwards. I'd no idea there was something actually WRONG with either eye. Just put it down to age, as you have.

I already had the “old” eyes checked. The vision is fine at 20-15 but cataract surgery is in my future. It’s not if, just when... it thanks!

It's not a complicated procedure, Kingman … takes less than an hour, and can be done in any eye clinic.

And - if you have a Medicare Advantage plan - there's full coverage …

Good Luck, my friend …

My eyesight problem comes from one of the drugs they prescribed for me. No one knows which so I just have to grin and bear it.

I see … that can be complicated, especially if you have to take a lot of meds, GE … Diabetes, is it?

No diabetes. Had a stint a year and a half ago and a pacemaker a month back.

(Sorry about hogging the OP's post.)

Oh, I see, GE … what's a stint? …

I'm diabetic - it turns out … have to take 9 Meds a day … still, looks like I'm getting better (used to be 12!)

I think it's okay, as long as we talk about Pentax every once in a while. Did you catch my earlier comment?

The K-30 and K-50 have a steel chassis, but RE may be right about the K-S1 and K-S2 being plastic.

Do you mean a "stent" - a tube that keeps a blood vessel open? My Dad had one inserted as part of an angioplasty.
