The idea is that before events were frequently recorded by photos, it was easy to claim that something amazing had happened. After cameras were common, it became nearly impossible until Photoshop made it easy to manipulate reality.

Yes I did. Forgive me for being literal. Perhaps if “miracles” had been in quotes …. And also because I am from an era where significant darkroom manipulation was common the invocation of “photoshop” seemed less of a trigger.
