The Matter of Trading Up - opening a discussion on its merits and downfalls ...
I have been fortunate to be able to trade up since I've gone digital. My first was a Nikon d5100 and I thought wow this is nice. Then after gaining a little knowledge and a little experience I got a nikon d7200 and again wow. I got buutons instead of menu's and a few more megapixels. Then current upgrade was a big one. I just bought a used d810 and a new Tamron 24-70 2.8 G2, only had 2,600 clicks on the odometer, another wow, very satisfied. I will have to trade in the d7200 kit to swing the 70-200, so I'll be saying wow for a while. Thru all this I've had a very understanding wife.

But you still have both the D5100 and the D7200, right, Star?
This was more about the loss entailed when you swap out cameras, to a dealer, and then wind up doubling your loss, when they allow you nothing for the camera traded in, and expect you to give them $ besides!!!!
The 5100 will go in a yard sale and the 7200 with it's 18- 200 lens will go to a camera store in order to get a 70-200 lens.
