"30 Minutes"

This month's challenge is designed to get you out shooting, thinking a bit
differently, and even get a little exercise! Anyone can do it, no matter where
you live, what camera you use, or your photography experience and skill
level.

Ready? Let's get to it.

The theme for this challenge is 30 minutes and it goes like this:

1. WALK 10: Step out your own front door, pick a direction,
and walk for 10 minutes.

2. SHOOT 10: Stop wherever you end up and for the next 10 minutes
take photos of what is in that location, or nearby.

3. WALK 10: Then in the final 10 minutes walk back home.
It's that simple! So get out your walking shoes, get some exercise
and fresh air, and take some photos.

So where's the challenge?
The challenge here will be finding something to shoot for 10 minutes,
wherever you end up. So that might be a parking lot, playground,
a busy street, or country road. You will need to dig deep to find enough to keep
photographing for 10 minutes.
Look past the obvious, get closer and look at details. Maybe you can even take
a macro lens or extension tube to try some macro photography. You could even
stand in one spot the entire time and only shoot what is around you.
There are an infinite number of interesting things to photograph if you take the
time to stop and look. Now is your chance.

Here are Some of the Things I found in 10Min. of Photographing
what was around me at the end of my 10 Minute walk.

Great idea for a challenge and great shots to get it started. Getting out for a walk helped to break out of the winter doldrums.

If nothing else, this challenge really opened my eyes!

I pride myself on "seeing" things a little differently and actively
search out unusual objects and different perspectives. I expected
to use those old skills on this challenge, but what really opened
my eyes, is that we built our home 30 years ago this May in a new
neighborhood.

And after almost 30 years, you'd think I'd know what was around me, right?

Wrong...I came to find out the local municipality has a large area they
use for mulching...which is fine, except it's in deplorable condition and
even has an abandoned school bus! (I wasn't aware you could mulch
school buses...go figure.)

Anyway, here are a couple things you'd expect to find.

Mulching a school bus sounds like the type of activity our city conducts on city property... I like your set. That rock is pretty interesting, and last falls cling on are probably my favorite.

What
a great homework assignment! I had cataract surgery yesterday so I'll file this away as a challenge for myself in a few weeks. By then daffodils and/or Dutchman's breeches should be blooming.

Hope you heal quickly and completely Blue, Glad you like the Idea of this Challenge.
