So, let's give the OP some of the better gimbal options. Steve Perry is high on Wimberley gimbals, which are top of the line. I happen to own a Sirui PH-20 carbon fiber gimbal head, which I am very happy with. I believe it has been discontinued and replaced with the PH-30.
If you have never used a gimbal head, you need to get (a good) one. Much more stable and easy to adjust compared to a ball head. Yes, they are big and clumsy, but I do my best to figure out how to take it with me on birding hikes.

One of these was delivered and the thread does is too big for any of my tripods. Is there a piece missing (see attached pic) None of the customer service numbers work and the email links to live support don't function

I sincerely hope you would never put a head like that on a tripod like that. The tripod load limit is less than the head weight, much less than the weight of the head with any camera and lens mounted!
Customer service? Yeah, thats a pipe dream.
Does anybody have a phone number for Bemyar that works?

Only published number for them and it connects to an overseas exchange that is not assigned.
Typical of scam companies.
My complaint is different. I ordered one from Bemyar on 3/31, order confirmed 4/1, my bank charged the cost on 4/2, received email that gimbal head was shipped on 4/5 with expected delivery date between 4/15 and 4/22. Those dates came and went, with new expected arrival dates between 4/22 and 4/27. It is now 4/30 and nothing. Bemyar has a "tracking shipment" link which is totally useless. It doesn't show actual processes at various facilities, nor whether shipped UPS, FEDEX, USPS or some other service. An email to Bemyar regarding this matter has not been answered. If I receive an answer or a gimbal head or both I will update on this forum.
Had I waited to post about 45 more minutes I would have had gimbal head. It arrived and appears substantial enough. I now have to solve the tripod head difference in screw size, then I will put it through its paces.

I just ordered one, will be cautious with it, will be using a Nikon D610 with a 100-500 Sigma telephoto lens which is pretty heavy and unwieldy will post the results. I'm kind've nervous as I have not been able to get through to anyone at Bemyar either through their 800 # or their email. The 800# answers with a Spanish speaking woman's voice and then hangs up, nothing wrong with the Spanish just that I don't speak it and have no clue what she's saying
I put the Bemyar head through its paces a few days ago, both on a substantial tripod and also on a monopod, and will do more Memorial Day weekend. I used it with a 200-500 mm Nikor. So far so good, and photos will follow after editing.

I look forward to your next post, I have found it impossible to communicate with these pe5beyond the ordering process. Let us know how things work out, I will of course do the same if I ever receive it
Go to your camera store and ask for a 3/8" x 20 to 1/4" x20 insert; the insert screws into the base of the gimbal head, and the smaller hole will accept the standard 1/4" x 20 screw on your tripod plates. I had to do the same, the cost was under $5.00. They may also be available online.

Go to your camera store or Amazon and get a 3/8" x 20 to 1/4" x 20 adapter, also available from Amazon scroll through these posts and you will see others. Adapter is about $ 5-6 bucks. Your right, these guys customer service sucks
I used the gimbal head on a monopod for a number of hours over Memorial Day weekend while visiting Waco Texas and the National Mammoth Center. It worked as expected, but I think one does need to practice with it. My next test will be for "shooting" birds, but the nearest state park with interesting birds is closed due to flooding. So far I am happy with the gimbal head.
