I posted this photo a while back but seeing comparisons between cameras with lager sensors I fail to see anything lacking in terms of clarity and sharpness with this photo. I have a 20x30 framed print on my living room wall and it is tack sharp. Olympus OM 10, Mark ii with 14-42mm ez kit lens. f10, 1/400, 14mm, ISO 200.

I have a Pen F and a D7200. The images a quite comparable. The small size of the Pen F is very useful in macro, long telephoto work and travel where space is a premium.

I have the same camera but use a Panasonic 14-45 lens, it's slightly larger when not in use, but the images just like yours are superb.

Bill, I use Olympus cameras and at present I have an Olympus EM-10 Mk II and a Pen EP-5. I use those cameras with lenses made by Olympus and Panasonic. I cannot complain of the quality I get from both cameras.
Your b&w image is excellent although it needs a slight perspective correction not saying that like it is the image is not fine. You have done this with the kit lens so imagine the quality using any of the professional Olympus lenses.
In my humble opinion the M43 mirrorless system is very capable of outstanding results. I wish my little cameras could do better in low light and I also wish they had the AF capabilities of the OM-1 Mk II but both are cameras with the technology available at the time and I do not use either of them for action or wildlife photography.
I have gone to 13x19 enlargements using my cameras and the quality has been amazing to me. Your image for sure is a keeper.

I have just purchased the same camera and happy to see posts by others and learning from them.... I have only the 12-100 f4 zoom so far and will wait and learn some more before deciding on next lens... I do mostly landscapes but want to shoot wildlife as well so my choice will likely be determined by how happy I am with the wider angle of current lens....

I have th e-m5 mark II and have the same experience! I adore the camera and it’s image quality. My go to lens is the 14-150mm II.

Your lens is a professional series lens and from what I know it is a very sharp lens. As you already know by now the 12mm side is equivalent to a 24mm view if using the so called "full frame" lens. Olympus makes a very nice 40-150 f2.8 Pro lens and you could use a 1.5X tele-converter with it for more reach. If you decide to shoot wildlife the AF of the new camera (OMD-E M1X) is said to be superb although the camera is pretty expensive right now. The OM-1 Mk II is reasonably priced and its AF is pretty good for wildlife and superior to those built in previous cameras.
Take a look in You Tube to the videos by Derek Forss, photography educator and Olympus visionary. Lots to see and learn.

A truly beautiful shot that might use a touch of straightening.

I have progressed through Olympus Cameras starting with an EP1 and tyhrough the OMD's and have settled on the Pen F with a variety of lenses plus the EP1 with a 60mm for macro. I am waiting for the new 12-200 to use as a travel companion to the Pen F. I had to give up on a huge Nikon Kit because of weight and bulk about eight years ago and am completely satisfied with the Olympus (However I still use a Leica M and DLux 6 for walkabout, and an ancient Minox IIIs) Enjoy your Oly!!!

Actually I did straighten it before printing.

Very nice photo. I too recently began using the Olympus 4/3 system, with a OM-D E-5 Mkii and also a PenF. Just a note for those reading who may not know - these cameras have built in perspective control, and built in HDR. Very capable systems, along with the very fine resolution and sharpness. JimR.
