I picked one up; is it a 'ducky' little camera with an incredible number of features. It will be a replacement for my Nikon Coolpix S9900.

It took me about 15min to format the memory card. Format is embedded in the menu and took a little effort to find. Got the Sandisk, Extreme PRO SDXC U3 UHS-II Card, 64 GB (one of the fastest cards) and will shoot in *.jpg for a while. Not into photo editing yet. It will take a couple of days to get into the camera. Menu is extremely easy and clear, just a lot of it, and, a matter if finding where stuff is embedded and what some of it does. I haven't taken my first picture yet, will do that tomorrow AM.

Sort of renewing an interest in photography... not since 35mm, other than 'just taking pictures'.

While your out and about.... on mode selector dial select "A" for aperture now put yee ole mk I eyeball to the viewfinder or you can use the monitor on back, point camera at something and turn the dial next to the mode dial left or right while watching the monitor or looking thru viewfinder. Notice the the scene either gets darker or lighter depending on the direction of the dial being turned. That is the exposure being set. Choose on that you like press shutter release. Works the same in "S" shutter mode, but your changing the shutter speed instead of the aperture.
