Just shot in Bermuda. Covered Southampton, Hamilton and St. George. Used two cameras and chose my 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/28. I found the number of expansive beaches where a wide or super wide angle lens might have been nice was minimal. The 24mm was just fine. I was also surprised at the number of times I used the 200mm zoom to capture items of interest. Good luck. If this is your first time to Bermuda, you’re in for a great experience!
Thank you. I’m thinking that the 17-35 would be most useful. I have been reading about a previously suggested lens, the 28-200G, but reviews are extremely mixed
Your Bermuda images are simply awesome! Beautifullycaptured...

I was stationed at the Navel Air Station in St. George, with a VP squadron in the mid 70s. It was always fun to go to the many old WWII gun emplacements on the island. The guns are long gone, but some of the hardware is still there. Drop by the Square in St. George, and possibly see the Bermuda Regiment Parade the Square. There was a nice Pub on the Square, try some of the warm beer.

...my dad was flying to Europe whilst being "rented out " from his early Flying Tiger Line pilot gig, circa 1950, so me 3 and my brother was born there. I actually have many vivid recollections but nothing useful for the OP...this thread just brought out a bunch of images in my head, uh, the 60-odd years ago type. Definite bucket lister for me, though, post your trip!!!

Hello Joel:
I, along with my family, have been to Bermuda many times, always via cruises from New York City. It is truly a beautiful country with wonderful people. I would recommend bringing your Tokina with its wider end than the Nikkor 35-70. To me, Bermuda photography doesn't need long range telephoto zooms.
I don't know how you're getting there, but if you're cruising, the Tokina will also be great for on-board photography.
Someone yesterday mentioned mopeds. My wife and I rented them in 1975 when the Bermuda auto traffic was very light and we were very young. Today, with increased auto traffic, I wouldn't recommend mopeds nor did the cruise staffs.
So enjoy your trip. Any questions? Please write me.
Regards,
marcoj

I mentioned the mopeds. When we did it, there were no rental cars allowed on Bermuda and Islanders were restricted to one car per household. I was curious to know if the rental situation had changed and found that you can now rent electric two seat Twizy vehicles which look like fun and should be much safer than mopeds. Note, Bermuda drives on the left and the speed limit is 20 mph. Even so you can probably get from one end of the island to the other in an hour or two. There is a good bus service also if you are felling less adventurous.
