That is a "Fabulous" photo ! I'm interested in knowing the equipment you used to take it with and what your settings were?

Great portrait Bill. A little scary yes, but a lot of character.

When I first started to date his daughter (now my wife of 46 years), Pop scared the hell out of me. He had the largest hands I've ever seen. In this image he's playing it up a bit for the camera.

Hope you enjoy - looks best in download.

And just what are your intentions regarding my daughter, young man?

scatman - may not have been said outright, but it was definitely in the air.

It is difficult for me to give adequate praise to this portrait as you caught so much of the man and his essence in it. Fantastic image.

Thanks John - I really appreciate your comments! It's probably my favorite picture of my father-in-law.

Thanks Blair - he could turn those looks on with no effort at all. Lot of fun stories, many of which I couldn't repeat here.

I love the look! How cool that he was willing to play up that menacing image for his portrait!

Thanks FunkyL - glad you liked it. He loved turning on the ferocious look, and had a lot of fun with it.

Thaks LITTLEBIT - I'm glad you liked it and appreciate your comment. This image was taken back in 2005 with a 6MP Nikon D70 which was my first digital camera. I believe the lens was a 16mm-70mm DX zoom. I'm attaching exposure details below.

Thanks Jan - I'm glad you liked it and appreciate your comments. You're right, there's a lot of character in his face and he could easily be scary when he wanted to.
