For the most part we agree. But where does the public contribution to education end?. A surgeon friend of mine's son decided that he did not want to go to college, The surgeon was devestated, his son wanted to be a plumber and apprentice with his wifes brother. I said to him, when the Neurosurgeons toilet doesn't flush he doesn't call the cardiologist, he calls the plumber. His son now runs his own company and has 12 plumbers working for him. Not every one should go to college. There are jobs in the "trades" that can't be filled. Not enough trained, sk**led workers. A college graduate with a degree in Womens Studies is essentially unemployable. You want to be employed and wll paid for your entire career? Be an electrician. A guranteed $75 grand/ year. Mor jobs available than qualified workers.
