Still new to all this but have learned a lot from all you find people. Thank you! Since I started taking photos in RAW as a lot of you said I should, won't this use up a lot of space in the Lightroom cloud. I bought the $10 version which gives you 20gb. What's that, about 400 RAW photos?
Any ideas besides moving up to $20/month

loboal - with your subscription you get both CC and CC classic if you travel and need to edit on the fly then you will need to use CC and buy more storage $$$. Be aware that CC has limited editing capabilities and does not look the same as lightroom classic. If you don't need cloud storage then go with "Classic CC" which looks and feels like Lightroom of old but upgraded. Either way you can download Classic as part of your subscription as well as Photoshop from the Adobe Panel that installed on your computer.

It confused me also when I first went over to CC. I use nothing but classic and photoshop on my computer.

P.S. if you call Adobe and complain they may give you a 4 month trial subscription for $4.50 a month like they did me -

I do not bother with LR CC at all since I use a laptop and an external drive. However, were I to use LR CC, I would also use the option to sync my catalog and smart previews only while keeping my original files on a drive. This is because I would only be using LR CC to tinker with edits on my phone, which I could apply to the full files later prior to exporting on my laptop. The space requirements of the catalog and previews is much lower.

As others have noted, there are two choices: LR CC (cloud based) and LR Classic (local based).

The cloud based version is useful if you do a lot of work in the field or bounce around on different computers.

The local based version is useful if you do your work on one computer.

No matter which you use, your images should be backed up. There are innumerable threads concerning backup (and/or archiving, which is slightly different).

Personally I prefer local storage and workflow, but YMMV.
