I was just doing some research on the lanternfly in PA. I can hope it gets eradicated, but admit I would like to photograph one first. So it is on my list of 'goals' next time I drive thru that state. The wife needs to be willing to stop, however.

Well Mark, unfortunately the Dept. of Ag dropped the ball on this one. Back in 2014 they knew about it but kept it hushed. At the ESP (Entomological Society of Pennsylvania) meeting they were pressed about what the big secret was. We were told that they couldn't tell us just yet. When they finally did, many in the county tried to help eradicate the pest. It took the state far too long to roll out the information to the public and even when they did there was no money coming soon enough to really get a handle on the problem. They have really spread since 2014 and are now down here in Delaware. I'm sure that much of the spread is due to cars coming to Delaware. It is a big vacation area for people from Berks County.
