Why would you say that? Simply Not True! What experience do you have with Epson printers? I’ve owned Epson printers for over 20 years and Never had a problem with Any of them. The only reason my old Epson printer doesn’t work now is Microsoft and Epson stopped supplying updated drivers for Windows 10. Epson makes incredible printers for photography! And they last forever!

I don't recommend an Epson printer to anyone that doesn't print once every day once a week if you want to let it sit there longer than that before between printing don't get an Epson

You don't know what I have or anything about me. Why would I say what I did is because I lived it. I have had Epson printers for 30 years and I don't take the ink out unless it's empty now if I did not print something every day and let it sit off. I had a hard time getting the printer going. And I still have one. But I try to print something every day.

"Don’t be So sensitive! I don’t know you or want to know anything about you! You’re giving false information for prospective Epson buyers. What printer do you have that you can make these statements about ....and what printer are you referring to?

I tend to believe you although I don't own a high end one like the R1900 but since I print infrequently my Epson died within 6 months. Epson gave me a new (refurbished) one under warranty but that too died within 6 months.

Their printers need to be used every day or every other day or it will have problems. They do good if you keep it going. I think some of Epson printers are made for print shops, that run them 8 hours a day.

Rogstrix,
What are you referring to, more waste tanks?

Thanks,

Bert

Some of the printers have a tank or box it uses when it does head cleaning. It uses ink to do the cleaning so it uses the tank so the ink don't go leaking from the printer.

As said all/most printers have a waste tank to store surplus ink from head cleaning cycles etc. These need emptying (by Epson) usually triggered by a software setting that says your printer needs 'maintenance'. You can buy a kit that comprises an external plastic tank and tubes so you can do it yourself. Some newer Epson EcoTank printers have a disposable tank that (like the ink cartridges) has a chip to indicate status. Another way of Epson making sure you buy from them, lol.
