For those who say this can be done anytime, maybe you could post a pic showing your non-equinox balancing egg.

I don't buy the theory that it is the shape of the egg that counts. My wife spent a good half hour trying to stand the same eggs afterwards without success.

I don’t think anyone’s saying it’s an easy thing to do...just that the balancing has nothing to do with the Equinox. It has to do with the right surface area of the egg, the position of the fluid inside and the patience of the one conducting the experiment.

I suspect that you believed you could do it at the witching hour, and that believe helped you do it. Later, when you didn't believe you could do it, you couldn't.

It’s a matter of having the right egg and the right touch, but an egg can be balanced on end on any day of the year.

I just saw this in the Sunday parade Magazine.

Ask Marilyn, I believe is the column.

She also said, with patience, you should be able to do this anywhere on any day of the year.

Yep, balance one on the pointy end and I’m impressed.

I read the Marilyn article in Parade Magazine on Sunday 3/17/2019. Based on her comments I tried the balancing trick on both 3/18 and 3/19 and was able to balance the egg both times. Actually, it really wasn't very challenging to do it.

I've done this on the Equator but didn't think it could be done anywhere else.

I tried it on the equator of my globe, but it fell to the floor and broke.
