This is way too busy and no defined subject. On another note: This is a photo critique section. Your questions or recommendations about post-processing or composition are ill-placed here. For a proper critique, you should submit your best effort with a title and then remain silent. If you have to describe your image you have failed because the image needs to speak for itself. This section is badly misused and the true value of critiques are often lost. That's too bad because in order to grow with photography you should hear absolute truth from qualified photographers. There are numerous sections within UHH whereby you can get assistance in composition, post-processing or show-off your work. This is not that place.

You are right. It was the Galley Restaurant on Fisherman Bay. What is a Bostonian doing with knowledge of Fisherman Bay geography?
We are watching you !! Go out to your back yard this evening between 6:00 and 6:30 and wave up at the Eastern sky. Wait for my signal.

.....no change of camera position will move the dock......
Exactly. The dock as a leading line doesn't lead the eye towards the sun or even to a bright part of the sky. As it is the composition is fundamentally flawed and there isn't an easy fix. One possibility is to forget using the dock as a leading line and move out onto the dock itself to see what foreground interest it offers. Perhaps there was clear space that could have been used to guide the eye out towards the sun and open water. Perhaps there were framing elements that would have indicated the fact that it was a dock while at the same time focusing the viewer's attention on the sun/sky/water in or near the centre of the frame. Perhaps there were boats to include in the mid-field for added interest. IMO if a leading line isn't doing exactly what you want it to do you should consider not using it and finding alternatives. BTW you did a good job of getting the exposure right, especially considering that it was a small sensor camera.
