It's been a long week and after the 3 hour drive I'll admit I didn't put a lot of effort in. After seeing all your creative efforts these are pretty lame, but here they are.

P26 Wow Sunnybuck these three works made me shiver inside. Amazing all 3. Love love love them. And thank you so much for doing that for me. In my eyes these are top drawer works of Art and splendid examples of refraction.

Wow Simon! What a compliment! Especially coming from the master of abstract. I'm pumped now... I'll have to take back my last comment as being the last for the wine glasses. Here are a couple more. I found I wasn't happy with the spacing between the front glass and the back glass in the original post. And, I also found a dark spot on the reflective board that I hadn't seen before.

Stunning works Johnna, Love em all..Pg. 27

Many thanks Judy for leading us down this path. After a rather fearful start, I have come to see the entertainment in it, though I won't take the time to achieve perfection (too lazy with set-up).

I put a few toys together this morning, and have found a little play-time during the day. So let me show the few things I did with them.

My camera is a Panasonic Lumix G2 (just bought a G9 but am still scared of it!); two lenses used: mostly the Panny Leica 25mm 1.4, but a few using the Olympus 60mm 2.8 (macro). Remember it's a MFT camera, so double the focal length of lenses for 35mm equivalents.

Sometimes the refraction is not obvious, but you just know it's gotta be there!

Hhmmm I see I have a problem focusing or keeping still or something! Please excuse me.

I thought it might be interesting to see what would happen if I put the rose vase inside the small bowl (which is why it was not full in that "toys" picture.

Interesting how the cut in the exterior glass defines the distribution of colour from the inside one. And if you look a little lower left from centre, you can see the sheers, and through them, I can make out features of the neighbours' house.

I can't work out the optics, but there must be refracted refractions here.

Having computer problems - waiting for new hard drive before a really major crash happens!

The next thing I tried with the toys was to see what might happen if I put the rose vase assembly behind the larger spherical object. The photos show that much depends on the distance between the objects and the camera position. A guide to slightly changing orientations is the position of the neck of the rose vase in relation to the vessel in front. (In that first shot, the two dark lines are the neck of the vase).
