Welcome, Annie. Pentax makes fine cameras and I respect your loyalty to the brand. As you enjoy your UHH membership, you will have a chance to avail yourself of numerous benefits. Take time to poke around and explore the many resources. Remember that one of the precepts taught by UHH is that it is the photographer not the camera that creates exceptional images. Sincere best wishes, Ralph from the WI north woods

Welcome Annie. I have K5lls As has been said Pentax makes great cameras. Best bang for the buck. Many legacy lens available. One of my best is an A50/1.7. Cost about 30 bucks. Enjoy the ride.

Hello Annie from Mich. I am Bob from Mich. Flushing, actually. I to am An avid, loyal Pentax fan. I first bought In while serving in Vietnam. I bought a SPOTMATIC and had it for years. I now have a number of bodies and loads of lenses. I recently bought a Pentax K-1 & believe it or not all my lenses work. I would suggest looking at mirror-less, and Pentax doesn’t have one, unless you count the K-01, that is no longer made. I now have a Fuji mirrorless, and with Pentax and fuji I want for NOTHONG else. You might consider looking at the “Pentax forum”, but it is not as “smooth” as this one. Enjoy your return to photography.....BOB OF MICHIGAN

Good to see another Pentax user here on UHH...... for the money spent Pentax has always been a good buy. They make solid cameras that serve the user well. As I tell folks it is not the camera but the eye behind the viewfinder. :)

Pentax has been good to me over the years from the spotmatic to now way too many of their cameras..... have a k100, (used as a learning camera for those wanting to try taking a pic), K20d, K5, K3 and just got on 20 march the K1Mark ii.

I sold the K10d and the K7 to fund lens purchases..... now with a full frame it means the terrible I gotta have that new lens is already cropping up.... I was happy to find that 50% of my current lenses will work with the new rig. Better than I expected. The rest will work but in a crop mode.

Welcome back and enjoy the new K70.

Pentax has improved its quality over the years and now they are making superb cameras and lenses. It has been said before, it is the photographer so you will be limited only by your abilities on using the camera.
Good luck and post some images soon.

Welcome Annie, Pentax keeps making them better. I too have multiple Pentax cameras and old and new Pentax lens. It is hard to find a better deal with being able to use any Pentax lens on the new cameras. I look forward to be seeing your photos.

I have been shooting Pentax since 92 and own about 60 bodies. Every thing from screw mount to my current K-1. The only time any of them saw the repair shop was a PZ-20 the got imersed along with me in the West Fork of Oak Creef north of Sedona. It still works today.

The A50mm 1.7 is the sharpest lens that I own out of approximately 45 lenses. The 50mm 2.0's are good but are behind the 1.7.

Annie. Enjoy your new K-70. I really like mine. I have a K3 and K30 as well. I love the articulating screen on the K-70 not to mention the IQ of the camera. The Pentax forum sells an ebook for the K-70 that is loaded with information about the camera. Have fun;
