Early morning visitor

I am not a birder, however, this morning I started my truck and then brought my trash to the dumpster when I turned around there was my morning visitor. No camera available so the smart phone would have to do. Samsung S9+.

Normally when I see these birds there are between 18 and 30 of them. This little lady was alone. Guess she thought she was smart and got to the seeds before the gang came along.

Nice one. I'm glad that most of our sow has melted. The snow tires come off today.

Once in a blue moon I see them and they seem to come in for the bird seeds that hit the ground beneath the feeder station. Usually it's the Squirrels that get them. In the spring the Turkeys can be quite okay with humans feeding them and they are incredible flyers with great acceleration and lift even through heavy growth timber. Lucky you.

Nice photo.
I've heard of "turkey in the straw" but never "turkey in the snow".
