I estimate that over the years I've made more than 20 trips to Saint Augustine and never have gotten a good photo (at least one I like) of the castle. I think this one is my reward for persistence. Thanks for looking. I used a GND filter on the bottom of the photo to control the bright spotlights on the stone walls.
PLEASE use the download to see the stars

Thanks for looking.

Glad you liked this Mike. Personally, I don't like the double download (too much pixel peeping) because you are just seeing part of the image. However, the stars do not show in the thumbnail version.
Thanks for looking.

I have a relatively large screen and can move the photo about to appreciate the stars and the detail you captured of the castle wall.

The castle is just boring (from my point of view) it needs something to add drama. Blue skies are just so tourist like that I think it is boring. You would need really high clouds to make a sunrise look good because you can't really get a on the beach view. It has been years of frustration to get something. Once it opens the crowds of tourists just make it look like postcard shots. At least this is different.

Glad you liked it.

How large is your monitor? I have a 24" that makes viewing fun. :-)

Wow, Larry. The download really rocks! Amazing that the stars are so numerous and sharp and the lighting is very fitting.

Thanks for looking. Cold, crisp air with little humidity and a clear night really help the stars pop out. For Florida this was a cold night in the high 30's so I got lucky.

I've tried for more than 10 years to get something interesting from this fort. I figure I earned this one.

Thanks for looking.
