When the American Diabetes Associations asked if they could set up a small table in several Costco locations around the country, the brand was happy to oblige. No one expected that after a day of buying everything you could imagine in bulk, customers were going to be more likely to donate parts of their purchases, rather than the cash the Association so desperately needed. The irony of the donations didn’t escape everyone’s notice, however.
Interesting! There is a heart surgery hospital in NJ that has a McDonalds eatery on the first floor. Something not quite right with that scenario.

Maybe it was Buyers guilt/remorse. Shamed into getting rid of the sugar in the basket.

When I lived in SFran the VA hospital there had a canteen or PX that sold cigarettes. ca1974. Not taxed either! Long ago.
