Hi all, I am living in Bulgaria now, but looking forward to moving back to WET WALES hopefully in a few months.

I was a landscape photographer many moons ago,but I have spent the past 6 years concentrating on Astrophotography. I am also the Editor of two digital publications, one dedicated to Deep Sky Object imaging and the other to Nightscape Photography.

I have not joined this group to spam either of the publications, but will help out anyone I can if possible.
I have joined to forum as I am looking to get back into landscape photography as I have spent too many cold nights out with telescopes.

I may post a few astro images but I will not refer to any publications.

Looking forward to hopefully making some new friends here.
Hope to catch you in the forum soon

Steve

Welcome.

I am not into Astro but have considered trying it. Main thing is I live in one of the worst light pollution spots on the planet.
Can non-subscribers look at your digital publications?

Just booked some time in Rumania and Bulgaria for next year. I hope it lives up to expectations.

I was never into Astro at all, not for many years after getting my first DSLR. I got a Canon 10D, I loved it so much, then got the 450D. Started with just star trails, but then got a few scopes and so on.

Yes the magazines are free to read, digital magazines. I am unsure about posting much more about them here as I do not want to get reported and then banned from the forum. I think they should be quite easy to find via Google.

The villages here in Bulgaria are very derelict and run down looking. Great for black and white photography most of the time, but Spring comes early here, been 24 degrees c here most of last week and it looks to only get better.

If you are going close to any mountians here in Bg, you really are in for a great treat, the coast is Well, the Coast, ok in the evenings for photography, but most of the coast around Borgas is mobbed during the Summer months with holiday makers, but still a great, affordable holiday destination all the same.

Here is a pic I took the other morning, only posting here for you to see the lack of Light Pollution from the garden. If it works for me that is. ;)

Hi John, great to meet you. So glad I joined this forum, so many great people here. I took the pic above with a Canon 1200D, with the kit lens. It is 5 x 90 sec exp, ISO 1600, stacked them in Deep Sky Stacker and just played with levels in Ps.
I did also use a tracker to take this pic, One of the best on the market too for it's price. Here is the link to it. https://www.omegon.eu/camera-mounts/omegon-mount-mini-track-lx2/p,55040

Great to meet you John.

Nope, Used to be able to see a little of it on a real clear night when I used to live below the Cats Back a few years ago. Looking forward to getting back up on those hills as soon as I return.
