Choosing NOT to shoot RAW (much) brands me as Lazy and intimidated.....

Disagreements are OK! You and I can differ on any given subject and still treat each other with respect. Debating is healthy. We give our opinions and let others decide which opinion they prefer. The we move on until we meet again on another subject- we can still agree or disagree. There is no need to write each othere "poison pen letters" in PMs.
There's so much ugly behavior going on in the media and in the political and public sectors- I really don't need it in my professional life or my hobbies.
When people are respectful, kind and nice to one and other, more is accomplished.
