If I can politely say it, I think you just missed a great shot. Your position and lens choice have altered the proportions enough to make it slightly uncomfortable. Perhaps a higher viewpoint , or two steps back.

Background is great, color is magnificent, photo is very crisp.

I agree with SS319, Greymule, you are way to close on an otherwise great picture.

I like it. The red color is great. You were able to capture the front of the truck, as well as the left side of the truck, showing the running board, and the rear wheel left fender. You can see street businesses. And a tree in the background. Perhaps, you could have taken different angles of this truck. But, for a one only photo, it's a very nice shot. Happy St. Patrick's Day too.

I think you said it very politely, and I really appreciate your looking and taking the time to critically comment. I was using the original 24-85 kit lens that came with the D600 that I had just purchased (2013). The lens has quite a bit of wide angle distortion. Now a poor craftsperson blames his tools. I can't remember
whether I shot it close to avoid the street distraction or to intentionally distort the truck(or both), which for some unknown reason (as I look back 6 years ago) I was doing often. You should see some that I took with my 18 mm that were taken at a similar angle that elongates the image.

I totally agree with you and Earnsto, and I hadn't really thought about it. Thanks again.

A very nice shot.
I chuckled at what appear to be rather impromptu brackets for the headlights.

I don’t care what anybody says, I like the shot! The front end of these old trucks were over the Most interesting aspect anyway and emphasizing it by your viewpoint and lens choice makes this a fun photograph of an old, well kept utilitarian vehicle. It probably looks better now than when in use in its day.

It is so easy for someone to say: "i don't like the way you shot this" or "I would have done it differently". I actually love you perspective, and I think it is a very worthy image. So there. Saying you don't like something is not constructive.
