I agree with Thomas902, why shoot into a sun that is overwhelming the shot with extreme highlights and shadows? And true that one shouldn't be staring into the sun at all. I think the only time I'm shooting the sun is with either a sunrise or sunset. Oddly, I've shot firearms all my life and used hearing protection without issues but working one particular job, for only 5 months, damaged my hearing. My ear protection was there but I guess it wasn't enough. Luckily I do have most of my hearing but sight is far more important so please heed Thomas's advice.
