This image was done with a line of very tiny lights. A two second exposure. In PS I used a multiply colored banding with a soft light blending. The shell is about and inch and a half in size and is stuffed with the lights. The glass also has one of the tiny lights behind it.
Just a fun shot to do.

Wow, those must be truly tiny lights to fit several into a shell that's only an inch and a half! If it's not too much trouble, can you post a photo of the lights, Frank + talk about what their primary purpose is outside of creative lighting for photography?

I like the colors a lot, and really like how the shell appears to be floating. I'm having trouble with the glass piece in this particular composition - maybe an asteroid is about to hit Shell Planet

Linda the lights are truly very tiny. I will take a picture of them tomorrow so you can get an idea exactly how small they are. They are called fairy lights. They are used to light up small areas like a center piece or to light up a jar. Actually for any reason a person can think up a use for them.
I like the asteroid idea I think I will steal that idea from you.

A bold use of color and light... simple subjects became strongly awakened.

Linda, the ruler is to give you an idea of the size of the shell and the size of an individual light. The string of lights shown on top is how they look coming out of the box. When spread out the wire is about 7 feet long. Each light on the wire is about 4 inch apart.

My pleasure. I read somewhere about these light, so I thought I would give them a try. I got them from Amazon, and they were really inexpensive. Heck the battery that came with the lights are worth more than what it cost for the strings of lights. I can always use those batteries, whether I ever use the lights ever again.

Great idea and great execution! I think it's time to get serious about setting up a studio in the house.

Thanks Keni. I kinda have a studio in the house. That is the good news. The bad news I have moved it twice trying to get some decent working area.
