Most of the pollution comes out Duck, Kitty Hawk, etc area. Even if you know where to look for the Milky Way, with that Light Pollution it is barely visible. Nice thing with my camera I really enjoy is that in Live View the Milky Way is shows very clearly. Better than what I see my eyes.
