I was not truly happy with the kit zoom lenses and added a Nikon 50 mm f1.8. I liked it but felt a bit restricted by the focal length, I had to back off from the subjects too much in some circustances. I toyed with adding the Nikon 35 mm, but it seems a bit pricey, particularly when I saw that the full sensor version was really above my budget for a new lens. I saw the Yongnuo advertised and the reviews looked pretty good. Another UHH user posted that he thought t was a decent lens. For $106, I figured I'd give it a try. Here are a few of te shots from the first time I used it. Some of them really tested the ability of the camera's focusing ability, since I shot through a mesh surrounding a trampoline.
I thought you might be interested in some of the shots. I think the lens functioned very well. Proud grandpop as I am, I think they are pretty cute kids as well.

The photos look very good for such an inexpensive lens. I own the DX version Nikon 35mm f1.8G lens. It cost me $196 Brand New in the box. I also own the Nikon FX 50mm f1.8 lens for my DX camera. The 50mm f1.8 is a great outdoor sports lens, for shooting soccer games from the sidelines. Some say it can be useful for indoor basketball games with low lighting in gyms. I own a Yongnuo flash unit for my Nikon DSLR crop sensor. And am satisfied with it. Just as you are satisfied with the Yongnuo 35mm lens. Getting a Nikon 35mm f1.8G, was one of my best lens choices. You only paid $106 for your Yongnuo. That's a bargain.

I bought the FX 50 mm Nikon, with accesories, from Beach, with a US warrantee, for just under $200. It is a great lens, but too many times I had to back off from the subject and people walked in front of me when I was shooting.
I was surprised to see the 35 mm price so high for the FX and made a decision to buy FX lenses to give myself the flexibility if I decide to buy a non-crop sensor second camera. To spend the $200 for Nikon's DX version seemed silly once I read the reviews of the Yongnuo.
I hope the UHHs who look thing the photos are good.
Nice shots of some happy looking kids.
I guess the lens is a keeper!!!
