Great impact...wonderful effect of the derelict hulk breaking the horizon in cooperation with the distant castle.

Wasn’t Lindisfarne the site of the very first of the predatory Viking (pilage and raping) raids of Britain (for gold Christian artifacts...etc...) in the late 700s?

Best of regards...
Dave

Thanks, Dave, you are right about Lindisfarne and the Vikings... but it wasn't anything to do with me... honest.

The subject matter is worth the time to look. the B&W image is an example of how to do it right. Just a joy to look at beautifully perfect composition and contrast! Thank you for sharing this one!

I have come back to this image many times...am drawn to it as a moth... etc. etc...
Simply a wonderful image with incredible impact!

I have noticed that the hull of the “old fishing boat” is “clinker built” in exactly the same construction style that was used in the Viking ships that initiated the “Viking Age” in Britain in 793 with the raid on Lindesfarne.
