Good to see you back Graham and hope all is now well with you.

It would be interesting to know where this photo was taken.

I won't be taking new pictures for a while yet Heather, my surgery isn't until 27th of this month.

The picture was taken in Kolkata, India. The dogs are everywhere in
India, particularly in the cities. In a huge metropolis such as Kolkata, they are certainly numbered in the tens of thousands, possibly in the hundreds of thousands.

Nice photograph that would fit right into the street section.

That is good news about your surgery Graham. I will bear that date in mind and good luck.

Thanks for the information. I wondered if it was India as you have sent photos from there before. I knew that it wasn't the UK as we don't have those amount of dogs wondering our streets as people would soon rehouse them.

Something told me this wasn't Cambridge . A local probably wouldn't look twice at this scene. A stranger's perspective can help us to notice the note-worthy.

You here people giving dire warnings about visiting countries with a large stray dog problem. In Kolkata they are a fact of life, they are everywhere. They are not- aggressive, you just step over them, they don't move for you. The Indian folk will often adopt a puppy for a house pet or guard dog and are easily trained. Good natured dogs.

They seem to have formed a pack. Natural instincts at work?

They do congregate in packs, particularly at nights. They are harmless enough, if you ignore them they ignore you.

They look docile enough - not bothering anyone. I just feel for them that they need to be loved as they are not bothering anyone.

Great thought provoking image. I wonder why some cultures need to make animals into their babies. I also wonder what it says about a culture that lives side by side with their animals without feeling the need to control them. Interesting ..

I think that it is a matter of live and let live, don't you?

Quite possibly that is their mindset. I would not venture to comment on any culture unless I had lived there for sometime and come to understand their thought process. I do like images that make one wonder.
