Asking the pros

Would you all take a look at www.keithleestudios.com and let me know how you think he is doing the photos where he has a lot of blur in the photo and then people in focus, and generally what kind of settings, lens, do think he using? Do you think he is dong a lot in editing or is he able to do those in the camera? Thanks guys.

looks like all done in post processing. probably lightroom or photoshop. lots of presets and actions available to achieve these looks with one click.

For in camera you might try:

You can create that look in PS...google "Create lens flare in photoshop" ~229,000 results.

I'm pretty sure in my Topaz and OnOne plug-in bundles there is something.

Interesting look.

Looking at my plug-ins it looks as though Topaz Lens Effects V1.2.0 can create the background blur and tilt-shift effects while OnOne PhotoTools can give me the lens flare.

TONS of ways to do it. You can use a Lensbaby, you can use the blur filters in Photoshop ( some really cool ones in CS6), and there are some third-party plug-ins with blur capabilities. There are actions, but all actions do is drive Photoshop.
This guy really overdoes the shoot-into-the-sun thing. :-)

Smart Photo Editor is one of the best programs for adding effects. It is curretly selling for 29$.
