Walking Catfish...in the water.

Everglades in Jan.

These guys give the water the look one might expect from piranhas rippling the surface. I had a young Night Crowned Heron land in the middle of this action. His success appeared limited, as did my captures.

Some quick sequences with the D500, 200-500 allowed for a couple discernible shots.

Would have been more acceptable if I hadn't got caught at 1/400. I was playing with some relatively stationary birds and the water started rippling and splashing!

LOL, any in your neighborhood? They're supposed to be fairly well disbursed in southern Fl. I've read where when they move at night in the rain, that Hiway 41 actually gets some slick spots from being run over.
