WOW! Beautiful images Brent. I wish I could see all this in person. I have only seen small patches of poppies in the central coast area. Thanks for posting.

Goober, I love it when one of my fellow hoggers says "WOW" about one or more of my photos. That is the BEST compliment ever! I will tell you something that you might want to put on your calendar for next year at this time..........the Superbloom is supposed to be even BETTER next year! It would be worth it for you to visit Southern California just to photograph it!
Glad to post this for my UHH friends.

Mike, if you go, and photograph this next year it will be a major highlight in your LIFE! I'm still moved by seeing this and it was two days ago!
Glad to share.

Beautiful landscapes! How long are the poppies in bloom? They certainly bring the people out!

Stan

Yes Stan, the people were out in droves and parking was kind of a problem too......
each year the length of the bloom varies. I would suggest to go online and do a Google search to find out each year. It's worth it to fight the crowds of people just for the amazing photos and experience of being there. The people actually give scale to the photos which is kind of cool!

Stunning, Brent! You did a fantastic job capturing this spectacular bloom!

Thanks a ton phv. With a subject matter of what I had to deal with, nearly anyone could get some award winning photos. It's a "no-brainer"!

...great set ... this year's bloom seems to be extra robust thanks to all the recent rains!

You are exactly correct LBOYD1946........it's all about our recent rain. And the superbloom triggered an extra special event: The Painted Ladies butterflies are out in the billions right now in So Cal.

Hahahahaahaaaa...... good point EB.........in reality the Poppy is the state flower and is illegal to pick.

Thank you Brent for bring this very well captured set of images. You bring a set of images of items many of us will not have the opportunity to see in real life.
Larry

Thanks a lot Larry. If you ever go on road trips, I would put this on your list for next year. This is one of the most spectacular events I have ever photographed of all time! Being there in reality is far superior than looking at my photos. It's an "experience"!

Well Blair Shaw Jr, you are correct.....this year's crop is WOW! It's better this year than for decades prior, and next year is supposed to top this one. I would put photographing this on your bucket list! You can thank me later!

Stunningly beautiful!!!! Looks like a beautiful area to hike. Thanks for sharing.

Yes hiker60, it is a beautiful area to hike. Not to steep fireroads with views nearly every direction as you climb into the foothills.

Glad to share!

Wonderful series Brent. I especially liked #2.

Thanks very much Lloyd. I think more of my UHH friends like #2 than any other. I would surmise that the reason is because it has a foreground, middleground and background. It kind of sucks the viewer's eye in.

All I can say merrytexan is that if you like the photos, then you should have been there to experience the amazing beauty in every direction. It was truly an "experience"!
