All of the people I was gonna possibly kayak with bailed, so I decided it was a good chance to go out and play with my new micro 4/3 camera set up. First I headed to Lake Ridge Marina where I was gonna try out the 100-300mm zoom. Once I got there I realized it was still in my hiking backpack and not the camera bag, so it was mostly the 14-150mm plus a little bit of fun with the 8mm semi-fisheye “bodycap” lens. I could see there was gonna be a good sunset, and no good vantage point for it there. I decided to head all the way over to Manassas Battlefield Park where I knew there was a great hill to shoot from. Overall I’m loving this camera. I still love my Nikons and they have their place, but this Lumix G85 and lenses really save weight and space for hiking and kayaking. Really nice easy control set up too. The menu system is extensive but I can get to just about anything I need with the external controls.

I like #4 the best for it's got good dynamics, the angle of the bird's stare, and that it's not too tight...
Looks like the new camera is working well.
