Maybe I'm just cranky this morning, but I am done clicking on threads with the title "I need help" or a similar derivation.
Everyone here has questions now and then. Can't we be a little more specific when creating a new thread such as "I need help with Lightroom" or "Question on PP".
So my new personal policy is to not even read one that just says "Help" or even "Help please"
Dave
A lot of the "I need help" threads would do to Google their problem as opposed to asking on a forum as many times the answers tend to be voluminous & detailed...
yes you do sound cranky this morning, but I agree with your thoughts. More specific titling would be beneficial. You would then know if you might have something to add, or if it is something you also had questions about and could get an answer. Try to wake up a little better tomorrow, or don't log on until you've had the proper dosage of coffee. :D
I know what you mean, I was a moderator on an expat site and loosely worded thread titles caused more than enough problems.
Only a little bit of info was disclosed and when they got answers there was the yeah I already know that attitude, then it goes back and forward until there was nearly blood drawn. lol
I think one reason you see thread titles like those are that the writers cannot think of a way to be more usefully specific within the character limits of the title. Happens to me sometimes, though I try my best.

But surely you know what the problem is with ?
Camera, photo, program or whatever, it only takes one word to give an idea to readers what the problem is. ;-)
You have the right not to open and read the thread.

I know I have the right. I open many threads per day to see if I can learn anything or add to the discussion, but if you don't have the time to put a meaningful title, then I don't have the time to invest for you.

do us all a favor and do just that...don't read it.
i put a thread up similar to that and i got great help and response. this problem is serious to me.
it's funny how many "elites" moan and groan how stuff is written.
pass over the threads that you feel you are above and quit bitching about it. you only have to read the threads that interest you. if i have a problem..i will ask it any way i please.
take a chill pill.
yes you are cranky. go back to bed.
who died and made you boss anyway?
"no mre threads like...."
give me a break.
