It is so funny to think about the hardware of the past. The first PC I worked with a part of a real job was the IBM dual floppy beast. When they came out with the 20Mb hard drive that fit in one of the floppy bays, we all thought we had died and gone to heaven. >Alan

Yup... first real noticeable increase in computing power from the 8088. Add a 287 to it and you had a real screamer. In all the years following, I haven't noticed as great an increase.

the pickup on an old hard drive to be fast, it had to be very very light, therefore orientation isnt a factor.. for the newer drives, well, electrons are pretty light... GBG Ed
