Looking for suggestions for the best bag to carry a Canon 600, 1.4x, and 1DX II as a unit in the field

It has been awhile since I have looked for a bag that can hold this as a unit. I need one in a bag on my back while I carry the other and tripod with my hands. In a wildlife rich environment like bird spots in Florida, I like to have a super long lens and a shorter long lens. I plan to carry the Canon 600mm, and 1.4x, and 1DX Mark II and the Canon 200-400mm with built-in 1.4x on another camera. I need a long bag to accept my 600mm with camera and 1.4x attached. Any suggestions? I am finding some, but maybe someone here knows of great options. I am considering the one at Naturescapes, but open to suggestions.

Oh, I just tested my new Canon 600mm III with the 1.4x III version and it is awesome. For a lot of details about why I like it, just check my Facebook page.

And thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Check out Think Tank, they have several bags that would take that combination!

John, I recently got the Lens Tracker 600AWIII bag from Lowepro. I use it for the EF800 or EF500. The 800mm is a tight fit, no room for a DSLR mounted. Lowepro quality is a given, but this bag ain't cheap. The network of straps allow the bag ride high and comfortably on one's back. I am 6' 1" and it fits very well. I just finished a very good book on wildlife photography by John and Barbara Gerlach. Know 'em?

John, just read your first review this morning. I have three bodies. 1dx2, 7dmk2 with grip, 5ds r with grip. Lenses are 600 l mk2, 100-400 mk2, 1.4xiii and 2x iii.
The bag I got was the lower cost Ruggard long lens bag. Love everything about it except for the shoulder, belt harness which is permanently attached and because I’m only 5’3” I’m having a hard time adjusting how high the bag fits.
Other than that, it sits on the floor behind the seat in the jeep and I use the extra carrying strap up and through the headrest. Keeps it upright and sturdy while driving. I can fit any of these bodies with teleconverter and lens in the bag with the hood reversed. If I want to keep the hood in place then I just unzip the case part way and leave the body sticking out the top while I’m driving. It stays securely in place with the help of the inserts.
There are several storage pockets that others don’t have and all the zippers, straps and attachment points have held up well. It also came with a rain cover.

I also use the LowePro Lens Trekker 600AW, I have two that both hold my Nikon and Canon 600mm F4 lenses, and both with bodies attached. Mine are the original versions and have worked for me for several years now without any issues at all.

If you had access to a Domke F1-X, it might fit on the diagonal. But I would test it first. You can get optional shoulder straps. I use this bag extensively. But with a smaller long lens attached to a full frame Nikon. I usually carry two cameras with large lenses attached in that bag, with a bit of closed cell packing foam running the length of the bag to keep the two rigs from banging into each other.

Clearly you are not familiar with the lens in question!

thanks all. I have selected one. There are many choices, but I like carrying lenses ready to go as much as possible. And it helps to store a big lens in a bag with straps attached to the seat of the safari vehicles I use in Kenya.
