My son has put my sd card into his Mac, I use it on my home computer ( windows 7 ) but all files are coming up with fc-dirt3.r84 now It wont read the file, any tips would be gratefully recieved
I have loads of pictures on it !
Grandson says those sound like saved files from a game called Fight Club and that your photos are probably gone. In the meantime download a program called Recuva. I have successfully recovered photo and video files on a SD card that were accidentally deleted. Good luck.

Since it was used in a MAC, and had to be reformatted to do so. Any photos you HAD on the disk, are not only erased by the reformatting, but worse they have probably been written over.
But it can't hurt to try, good luck.
I had a look into it and one picture is my main concern, i have kept other versions, but i was after the orignal, looks like i have lost it !!
Thanks to all for their replys
Hi,
Formatting only clears the directory, not the data areas.
The Mac usually saves on unused areas first so there is a chance that your picture is still there.
While you are trying to recover, move the write-protect tab to the protect position.
As others have mentioned, there are a number of very good recovery programs - This is one very good commercial one that you can download a trial that will let you see what can be recovered before purchasing the program.
While you may not want to buy it, it will let you know if it can be recovered. Note that the file name may not be the same.

Will it down load directly from the camera? Don't give up hope. It may be able to save it with special programs. Others on this site can advise you better on this subject.
