Help needed with Watcom Tablet

I was told that the pen tablet is an useful tool in applying pen pressure when doing Composite or Masking work in Photoshop, by Phlearn, Phtoshop Café, Lumenzia, just to name a few. I bought a Watcom Intuos PS (< $100US) and the learning curve is steep. The hand-eye coordination is not that difficult comparing to the technical issues I encountered with the tablet in the process.
The recent problem is the unexpected doubl-click generated by the Intuos which makes the Pen tool very hard to use. I have to put my left hand on the ESC key to constantly undo the dialog box generated by the double-click generated by the pen tablet. I configured the upper pen button as double-click and I am very careful not to touch it. Googled the problem didn't help.
Can anybody help? I am using a Windows 10 64-bit PC, all the software, OS, Watcom, PS, LR, are up to date.

Read the opening post. He's already done that, and lists all the resources he's looked through and his frustration at not being able to address his concerns. Not that doing a google search is a bad idea - but suggesting it at this juncture seems to indicate you might have not read his post, only the title. If all you can offer is "google it" then you would have been better off not responding at all. Just sayin'

Have you tried going into the Windows settings for Pen and Tablet? You can find it in the Control Panel view. While there, turn off the right click feature on the stylus, then cold boot the computer. This has worked for me in the past. It functioned correctly when I was using Win7, but became an issue with Win 10. I have an Wacom Intuos 3. I am assuming you have already installed the latest drivers from Wacom's site, and you tried using a different USB port, and you have stopped and started Wacom services in Task Manager.

Everybody, thank you for the quick response and help. I apologize for the misinformation in the initial post. It is the right-click not the double-click causing the problem. Following suggestion I disabled the right-click for the Pen in the control panel it seems to happen less (3 times in drawing a simple path around a head). I will keep trying and contact Watcom and Googling, thank you.

SO frustrating! I am glad it's improving. Your reaching out to various sources will likely work, based on my previous experiences with persistent computer or program failures.

I am sorry that my comment about googling came after I missed that you had tried this. Yes, one does have to keep refining searches, but a few times that drug on for days until I meandered down a path with an answer. Good luck!

Common problem. The original Wacom - I have an old Wacom Intuous-2 - was simple - no "advanced" features, worked perfectly as a stylus - uncomplicated, useful. THEN the company "improves" the product with all sorts of bells and whistles and suddenly the useful tool is a hot mess. I feel your pain. I am NOT going to replace my old, very useful tablet so long as it works. Maybe you can find an old one like mine on e-bay. It is a wonderful tool!

Will an “old” simple stylus work with a newer model tablet?

Thanks for the advice. I discovered that "The latest is not always the greatest". Sometimes too eager to upgrade / update causes problem. The online recommendation of a tool product should be taken with a lot of grain of salt.

Rather than holding the stylus as shown on page 12 of the manual with your finger on the duo switch, hold the stylus with your finger resting on a part of the pen that is clear of the switch and only touch touch the duo switch when you actually want to touch it to bring up a dialog box, brush sizing tool, etc. I had the same problem you have and this solved the problem in most cases. Also, when you finish drawing a line for example, lift the stylus at least one inch above the tablet surface so you don't inadvertently draw something you don't want to.

Try watching this video by Aaron Nace of Phlearn.com

I find him to be an excellent instructor.

I marked the pen on the top side of the duo button to remind myself avoiding it. Great minds thinking alike, LOL. Thanks.
