The serial number sticker is missing and I don't have the original box. I would think that it wold be embedded somewhere digitally in the camera. I purchased a T6 about a year ago and I'm looking for advice.

If you registered the camera with Canon you should be able to retrieve it.

I'm not sure if I did. I got divorced several years ago and life has been too hectic. Age and memory are both failing me.

I just loaded a Nikon RAW files into Jeffrey's Exif Viewer. It shows the camera's serial number at the bottom of the Makers Notes section. Here is the website:

I never noticed it with Nikon, but just took a closer look. Instead of the serial # being near the top of the EXIF data with the camera make and model it is stuck near the bottom.

Image Boundary - 0 0 8256 5504
Serial number - 3087380
Colorspace - sRGB

Seems logical.

The DPP software that came with the camera can read either a JPEG or CR2 file from the camera and the serial number can be seen when you ask for "View / Info" on the file. See "Camera Body No." in the info window.

The serial number may not show up in Windows properties screen. I think you need to use an EXIF viewer to see it.

There are various places online to get a lot more information than you might ever want, but will definitely show your camera body serial number.

http://metapicz.com/#landing

https://www.get-metadata.com/

https://exifinfo.org/

Look for either "Serial Number" or "SerialNumber". It'll also show a serial number for your lens, but interestingly in my case it's not the same as the serial number printed on the lens itself.

If you want a Windows version to install, check out:

https://www.picmeta.com/products/picture-information-extractor.htm

Be sure to scroll waaaaay down to the bottom of the page for the download link.

Also available in any software that will display the EXIF info. I found it via Lightroom in the Library Module under the EXIF tab (far right of screen, way below keywords, etc.)

PS Bridge also displays the body and lens serial numbers in the Metadata for a given frame.
