Fantastic set, Brent and for a surfer can't imagine the feeling of hitching a ride on any of these, but for me think it would be sheer panic!
Take care!
Well Swamp-Cork, any of these waves are not for the rookie or beginner! You need to have the skills, experience and guts to be out in those waves. Thanks Swamp-Cork for your comment!

Jim, of course sheer panic would take over if you were out there. I'm guessing you don't have big wave experience. It's ok though.......you could be with me on the beach with your telephoto!

I have a hard time keeping my balance on a 2x6 while on the ground, always wondering if I could pass a drunk test wile totally sober.
If I get out your way again I will be looking you up for some great camera fun if you'l have me.
What ever the word is that expresses wonder more than Wow, that is the word that giant wave photo made me think. In researching the location, I saw that the Guinness world record was set there in 2017 for the biggest wave surfing record. A pro surfer successfully rode an 80 foot wave. Thanks for sharing this set.

Out there in the world is a place called Nazare Portugal. They say it's the biggest wave in the world. I'm showing you a photo (first one) of it to give you an idea of the size. In comparison to The biggest waves I've ever photographed, it makes my photos look like a bathtub ripple.

Wow! That first photo is simply frightening!

Yeah, you don't mess with Mother Nature unless you are very confident about your survival! lol
Then there is always the possibility of being swallowed by a whale.
Those are huge waves!
(They use short surfers for shots like these. Make the waves look larger.
)
Great captures.

Wow, and your waves look much more friendly to me!! Very cool, reminds me of something I read about. When I was young and read every surf and car magazine I could get my hands on: I read about the surf around Los Angeles beach/harbour area prior to when the breeakwater was built being extremely big at certain times of the year. This (the article was from when I was a young teen-so pure old man memory) article talked about estimated wave heights in excess of 100 feet, approaching 120'. The estimates were supposedly made from different floors of buildings (the buildingss were still there in the early 60's) and the writers claimed that using surveyors tools (like a theodolite) the estimates sounded accurate.
I know from reading that the North Sea waves that Holland built their huge sea walls for reach mammoth porportions, so it is easy to imagine Portugal having areas where the waves would be very large. Any estimates on the size of the waves in Portugal? Judging from the size of the surfer, that wave looks to be an easy 65-75 feet, maybe more..... Cool set Brent!!!
