Both way too busy for my taste. I'm wondering if the DOF could change to blur out the background and isolate the dancer more. I can see it would be quite a challenge to do it in post.

Yes, I think Jim did a nice job, much better white balance and that's the crop I would go for. I've noticed a few people complaining about focus. From what I can see the focus is fine. There are blurry spots but that seems to be more from movement and I think it really works for this shot. It captures the feel much better than a perfectly frozen image would.

The second one is less busy than the first and also better shows the face. The Native Americans often forbid pictures. They are all about bright color, movement and rhythmic sounds. So I think you captured those. Don Z.
