If you are talking about the AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D, I use that lens on my Df. It is a sweetheart and goes for about $130 new and is worth every penny. It does not have a built in AF motor, so needs to be used on a camera that has an AF drive for the AF to work. Refurbished by Nikon for $80? Don't hesitate, grab one while you can.
Yes that's the lens. I use it all the time on my film Nikon FE where its only weakness is the relatively short throw of the focus, but the FE's viewfinder is made for manual focusing so it's not difficult. I also use it as a short telephoto on my D7100 which has the in-camera focus motor. I bought mine new at full price a couple of years ago and it's still a bargain at even that price. Light weight, compact, and tack-sharp.
