Fibre base drying question.

To all that answered the last one, thank you. The info was invaluabe.
If any of you would like to take the time, I'd like to know more. I found out I needed blotter paper to soak up as much water from the print as possible so I won't be using a squeegee. Can someone explain the entire process? From when I take it out of the final rinse, the drying process? I will be grateful,
Thanks Frank Hayes aka fhayes
I dry on screens.
If your using RC papers, they dry very flat on their own, or hang them on a line with clothes pins (just like laundry).
Just take the paper out of the final rinse , drain and place on the screen face up and walk away.
The higher the humindity , the longer the drying time, the flatter the print.
If there is a bit of curl, place under a dry mount press and leave it for a few days before mounting. This may happen with fiber papers, rarely with RC
Never used a squeegee, gave up blotter years ago. If you really need to use a blotter box remove the "plastic" sheets and only use the real paper sheets. Put something heavy on the box for a few days for fiber papers.

Photocat, thanks for the info. I'm trying fiber paper and thought the flat dryers I bought would speed up the drying time plus keep them flat as well.
you didn't mention having a dryer.
Is this with a rotating drum, or flat surface with canvas apron.
Basically, it will be the same, except a rotating dryer will dry them faster.

I have two flat dryers that are in great shape. Being new to this and not knowing anyone in my area that is familiar with these, it's been an uphill struggle to get info on what to do.
Thanks for your input!
Be sure to place the print face up or it will stick to the metal plate.
If you have ferri plates then places image side to the plate and roll with squugee, when dry the print should just pop off the sheet.
Have fun.
Oh,be sure ti keep the aprons clean
